Remember This Day

in A Day in the Life, Inspiration

Deep breath in.  Sigh.

Remember this day.”  I tell myself.

You see, these past few days or even week have been very good in our household.  Very good.  We agree that to speak of it isn’t necessarily a jinx.  We have finally come to terms with the fact that we will have good and bad, that they will unnecessarily cycle in a dance to an unknown chorus.  We also know that the more of the positive days we have, more of the fun, lightness, warmth…the more of these we can have, the more these happy times grow in their number and length, noting the probability of their influences, the happier we can help our son, our children, ourselves become.

Alex has been wonderful.  He has had minor, oh so minor (in comparison to what we can have) bouts of moodiness, misunderstanding, overcoming of lethargy.  Every now and again, no more than once a day, he throws us a whopper of a tantrum.  Usually we can see these coming from hours away; usually they’re short lived.

I can live with that.

That is hard for me. I often feel like I have to be on guard against relaxing when things are going well, and worry that it’s all going to crash down around me.

Thanks for the permission to enjoy what I can!

Without jinxing it either, bravo!

Hope you got some rest too?

I love those times when everything is smooth sailing. Of course, if we didn’t have the rough spots, the quiet patches wouldn’t be half as enjoyable.

Enjoy every second of it!

Trish~ Yes, I know that feeling. This is, very honestly, the first time that I haven’t walked around holding my breath waiting for an explosion that sucks us all back down the drain. It’s uplifting to breath during this time. I hope you do too.

Jannie~ Yes, more restful (if the others would cooperate), but definitely more relaxing overall.

Talon~ I agree. I still wish there weren’t those rough times. We’ve had enough to last a lifetime.

TC is already talking about “staying here at Tony’s house” and not going to school. He has been on Spring Break all week. Pray for me on Monday morning…………I am so dreading it!
