A Belated Acknowledgement ~ Kreativ Blogger Award

in Blogosphere

Some time ago, in a land not too far from here, a beautifully Talon-ted woman extended recognition to another.  This other, she felt was deserving of the recognition.  This other, was apparently too busy to appropriately show her gratitude.

This other was me. (head hung in shame).

In the gloom of what was the summer, you, my readers supported me and listened to my heavy ranting about all that woes me as of late.  I appreciate this.  I also know it was you, those closest to me, and time that helped me gain a piece of peace that I was missing….oh, and school just started.  (Yippee)

Now with this newfound peace, I can (at last) show my gratitude to Talon who bestowed upon me an AWARD!

Kreativ blogger award

In the spirit of the award, I am to share with you 7 interesting things about me.  Now, the interesting part may be a little difficult.  However, I am willing to share 7 “things” about me that most of you may not have known:

1) I can’t go to sleep if my feet are cold.  I’ll try, and try, but alas, I will throw back the covers, scurry from my bed, yank open a sock drawer, searching around in the dark for the pair that are soft and warm, don them on my ice burg feet and, after warmed, will strip them in my sleep.  My husband hates loves this routine.

2)  I dream vividly.  Many of my dreams include places that I’ve lived, homes I’ve lived in, etc, but never include people from my past.

3)  I used to always want a 69 Camero with racing stripes.  I don’t any more, and it’s probably a good thing.

4)  Coffee is my friend.  I can drink it and drink it all day long and even sleep immediately after having a cup.  Yet, still reap the benefits of the “wake me up” when needed.

5)  Coffee is not my friend.  Apparently it leaves me with the horrid coffee breath that I still remember smelling on my 5th grade Science Teacher, Mr. Effron’s breath (mixed with cigarettes) and I swore I would never have.  *ahem*

6)  Altoids are my friend.

7)  I have 2 tattoos.  I waited until I was 24 to get the first, and even then had waited a year before I was sure I wanted it on my body.  My cousin designed it for me which makes it even more special.  The second I got a year later.  I don’t regret them even the littlest bit.  Yes, tattoos are addictive, but I have made promises to not allow any more ink on my body and for me, promises are stronger than addictions.

I’m sure no “socks” have been blown off anyone’s warm cold feet with these revelations, but alas, far be it for me to not follow through on an awards rules…even if it did take me over a month to acknowledge it.  So, now, there’s the pass along part.

I’ve decided to choose 7 blogs that I may have never listed prior for everyone to check out (okay, I may have listed a couple, but they’re still worth the visit/award/listing).  These bloggers are all wonderful in their writings and causes.  I hope you enjoy them:

Connor’s Song

Little Miss Hannah

Secret Mom Thoughts

Thomas & Tatanjia

I Hate Pink

Valerie Dykstra

Another Piece of the Puzzle

Thank you Talon for adding me in your list of inspiring blogs.  You, too, are a woman of inspiration and rejuvenation.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Well aren’t you the sweetest. What a surprise. And an honor too. I promise to check out all on the list. I hope your life is looking up and returning to normal, if normal is possible. Blessings to you Mia.

You’re welcome, Mia. I love your writing and your honesty while sharing your life. It’s refreshing.

I was smiling reading about the iceberg feet. I don’t even bother getting into bed without socks on. I wear them even on hot nights because my feet get cold. But they never stay on. Somehow during the night they magically end up in two little balls at the bottom of the bed.

All three of my children have tatoos. One I designed for my son. I like them. But I have to admit I’m thankful they aren’t addicted to them. I think tattoos, as with most things, are beautiful in moderation.
