IN RESPONSE TO “THE ACCEPTANCE OF GRIEF”: This is an excellent essay, Mia. I hope a lot of parents read it. I’ve done only a couple of sideways swipes at acceptance – because I really do not belong to “the club”…. one thing I notice about parents who are not-grieving-more-into-acceptance is that they have more energy, and show more joy in their lives. It is well worth it to make the effort to get out of grief – to work at it. The benefits are real.
Barbara~ I would agree with you. I’ve often wondered how those parents got there. I seem to get back and forth. I think I’m getting closer to not cycling quite so often. Maybe it truly is just time giving acceptance.
